Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction supports college access for students connected to Scottish Rite Freemasonry across the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. Its education-facing work includes the Leon M. Abbott Scottish Rite Scholarship, a named scholarship program that offers awards of up to $2,500 and serves both high school seniors and undergraduate students seeking bachelor’s or graduate degrees.
The organization’s scholarship eligibility defines a specific Masonic community. It serves Scottish Rite Masons in the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, children of Scottish Rite Masons, and members of the Order of DeMolay, Rainbow Girls, and Job’s Daughters. Academic expectations are also part of that framework: applicants must hold at least a 2.75 GPA. The scholarship is open to residents of 15 states represented by the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Wisconsin.
