H.E.R.O. for Children improves the quality of life for children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS through enriching programs, unforgettable experiences, and connections with the community. Its headquarters are in Roswell, Georgia.
The organization’s work is structured around programs that address social, emotional, educational, and developmental needs for children and teens. Camp High Five is a week-long residential summer camp for children ages 6 to 16 who are living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, combining recreational, educational, and psychosocial support services. H.E.R.O. for Children also operates Transition To Adulthood, which prepares high school-aged participants for college or trade school enrollment, internships or part-time employment, and stronger independence and life-management skills.
