Legacy Foundation for Bayview Hunters Point, in partnership with Lennar, FivePoint and the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (“OCII”), advances community development in San Francisco’s Bayview Hunters Point through education, workforce improvement, neighborhood building, and expanded homeownership opportunities. The foundation was established as part of the Bayview Hunters Point Shipyard Redevelopment Project with an explicit mission to strengthen the Bayview community while the neighborhood’s physical environment undergoes transformation. Its programs are directed toward low- and moderate-income families and are intended to eliminate blight and address urgent community development needs in Bayview Hunters Point.
Education is a central part of that agenda. The foundation’s Lennar Bayview Hunters Point Legacy Foundation Scholarship supports residents of Bayview Hunters Point in the 94124, 94134, and 94107 ZIP codes who are pursuing a diploma, certificate, or degree at a college, university, or vocational-technical school. For the 2026 cycle, the scholarship carried a June 3, 2026 deadline and award amounts ranging from $1,000 to $6,000. Eligibility includes youth and young adults up to age 30, high school seniors and graduates, current undergraduate and graduate students, and households at or below 100% of the 2025 HUD San Francisco Area Median Income level for household size.
