15 December of each year Application requirements Application Requirements Grant applicants to the Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives are required to be among the leading young academics of their country, i.e. possess clearly above-average qualifications. The scholarships are granted depending on professional qualifications. Researchers should be no more than 35 years old, while the maximum age for students is generally 25. Candidates who have been academically inactive for a lengthy period of time in their home country after passing their final examination cannot be considered. The foundation expects the prospective academics to submit a detailed research plan with their application. Furthermore, candidates are expected to present a commitment by a higher education lecturer or a director of an academic research institution in Berlin to provide supervision. The confirmation should be included in the application papers.
