Austin Community College

Austin Community College serves students through a collegewide scholarship program designed to reduce the cost of attendance and widen access to higher education. Its scholarships operation is built around a single application that can match a student to hundreds of scholarship opportunities, including major-specific awards, need-based support, Texas scholarship programs, AmeriCorps Service Award options, other scholarships, and military-related scholarships. The college sets a clear annual cycle for this process: applications open January 15, priority consideration runs through May 1, award notifications begin in July and August, and the application closes December 15.

The scholarship process is integrated with student enrollment and support services. Students must first apply for admission, receive an ACCeID, and activate an ACC email account before applying. The application includes a 250 to 500 word personal statement, and Austin Community College reinforces that requirement with writing support by directing students to schedule appointments with an ACC Writing Tutor online or in person. The college also allows applicants to save and return to their application, continue editing after submission, and attach supporting materials such as letters of recommendation.
